Welcome to my featured artwork

I’ve gathered some of my favorite pieces with a wide range of origin, whether it came from a commission or if it was a personal project.

Illustration Poster

This illustrative poster was commissioned in 2023 for a comedy show flier. It has been altered to be more illustrative and removing the comedy shows information and the original contain black bubbles that were to include the comedians headshots.

The Commission

The client gave me a basic purpose for the poster with a lot of freedom with the design. The main objective was to create a poster in the stoner metal art style and include areas for comedian’s headshots and names.

Stoner Metal art has a distinctive psychedelic heavy metal, vintage or weathered, filled with symbolism.

Pet Portraits

For this commission, the client’s request was to create a replica of an image she had taken of her beloved pitbull. The client expressed a strong desire for a pencil drawing that captured the essence of her pet.

Challenges

This dog portrait was one of my favorites, the eyes radiate so much emotion but as you can see the reference image was not crystal clear. Typically drawing portraits from an image that isn’t high resolution can bring up challenges but leaves room for imagination.

The struggles that arose were with the fur and how could I add it in a simplified way to make sure this cutie looks so fluffy. I also had trouble with her right paw. Overall, I enjoyed this one so much and the client was extremely happy.

Drawing Maps

I was hired by one of Nike’s departments as a map creator. The concept was to create an illustrated map of East Los Angeles that featured some amazing Latinx businesses or inspirational murals representing the culture. I was given 17 locations to include, such as the Mariachi Plaza to Latinx with plants.

The Challenge

Some of my challenges during the process were how to fit all the locations on one map and how to balance the roads and locations before they became too busy.

Overall, this was a fun commission as a Latina hired to work on a Latino Heritage Month project that was a massive highlight. If you are curious about my whole process take a look at my blog, take me there.
